by Miggs

The Twins game on 8/29 vs. the Red Sox was canceled due to … something.  I am not sure why, probably because it rained the night before.

Twins Beat Padres 12-11 in Last Inning Squeaker

by Miggs

Although the umpire was not calling strikes EVER, the Tucson Twins manage to score a win against the Padres on Sunday. After entering the 8th inning ahead 12-6, the Padres began a march back due to a bunch of hits and no help from the umpire. With bases loaded, 2 outs and the count 3-1 with the tying run on 3rd, Phil gets the last batter to fly out to right field. 1st baseman Mike Fimbers (playing right field) – made a strong run at the ball, caught it, let it bounce out of his glove, and re-caught said ball. It was exciting for all. Happy birthday Fimbers!

Besides that, the game was pretty normal although we only had 10 players. Larry played center.

Twins Lose to Raging Bulls Team

by Miggs

It was a sad day for the Tucson Twins as they add their first loss this season to a Pink-hot Bulls team this past Sunday June 13th.  Although the weather was great, the Twins could not help make the game interesting by giving the Bulls a WHOLE bunch of runs in the first inning. Then the Twins fought back and jumped ahead 11-10 in later innings. After a two out rally by the Bulls in the 7th – the Twins could not overcome Bulls closer Kelly Johnson. Final score was:

American Bulls 13, American Twins 11
